Denver, part II

Today we went out to visit Red Rock, a natural geological structure that is utilized as an amphitheater for bands as big as U2.

Here Sophia and I are petting this big dog!!

Blahhh!!! it licked my face!!! Grandma had a fit when she saw this (to dad's amusement)!

When concerts aren't being held here, crazy people run up and down the steps for exercise or kickbox on stage.

I'd have joined in the athletics, but I was on vacation.

Anyone else want to head for the mountains of Coors?

Oh, did I mention my crazy Uncle Mike? He's not really crazy but that weird thing he's doing with his left arm really weirds me out...

.. to the point that even when I'm playing I've got one eye on him at all times.

OH NOOOOO!!!! Even on vacation?

NOT

ANOTHER

SLIDE!!!!

WAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!

Enough of the water!! I'd rather sit over here and have grandma dress me up like a buddhist monk!

Here I am next to Calder's sister Cora. Things were awkward at first, but...

once she saw my daring fashion statement (thanks again grandma)..

... she was of course intrigued.

We also stopped by the Butterfly Pavilion. Why is there a statue of a Praying Mantis outside of a Butterfly exhibit?

That's more like it!

Dad overcame his fear of spiders so I could get a closeup with the tarantula... YUCK!!

On the way home we stopped off the highway to check out the bison.
